MV-75 Cheyenne: Official Name for FLRAA
With the range of the sun and the speed of the wind, so goes the legacy of the Northern Cheyenne and Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes.
From the north to the south, they adapted to life in the harsh wilderness, overcoming frequent clashes and rivalries to become a people of strong warriors—not as aggressors, but as protectors, providers and leaders.
The Northern Cheyenne and Cheyenne and Arapaho people remain dedicated to preserving their history and demonstrating a perseverance to maintain their identity while building a stronger, self-determined future.
That future includes the honor of being chosen as the official name for the U.S. Army's future long-range assault aircraft. It is with great pride we introduce the Cheyenne 2, which delivers unmatched speed and range, traveling twice as far and twice as fast to maximize combat power.
The Cheyenne 2 is a multi-role tilt-rotor aircraft that combines the versatility of a helicopter with the speed and range of an airplane. Engineered to evolve and incorporate state-of-the-art technology advancements, the Cheyenne 2 will integrate future technologies to counter evolving threats.
It provides the joint force transformational aviation capabilities, delivering speed, range, lethality and adaptability to the battlefield—twice as far and twice as fast as the current Army aviation fleet. It can self-deploy worldwide without the use of strategic airlift, a first for Army rotorcraft.
Just like the Northern Cheyenne and Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes, the Cheyenne 2 provides unparalleled versatility to accomplish any mission.
This is the Cheyenne 2.
