Bell in Canada

Bell Textron Canada Ltd.

Celebrating

6,000th Commercial Aircraft

Canada's Helicopter Company

Bell sold its first helicopter into Canada in 1945, a Bell 47 to Lundberg-Ryan Air Exploration. To better serve the growing market, Textron established its Canadian footprint with a new Supply Centre in 1969, followed by Bell’s further expansion with Supply Centres in Ottawa and Calgary in the 1970s.

In 1983, Canada’s government selected Bell to establish the helicopter industry in Canada. In 1986, Bell Textron Canada opened the doors of its Commercial Centre of Excellence in Mirabel, Quebec – home to a fully integrated design, manufacturing and delivery operation in service to the global helicopter market.

Advanced Capability for Canadian Operators

Unmatched Speed and Range for a Strong and Free North

Bell is ready to support the Canadian Armed Forces’ Next Tactical Aviation Capability Set (nTACS) project. Only tiltrotor can offer the speed and airlift capacity to assert Canada’s sovereignty, respond to natural disasters and emergencies throughout the country, and contribute to international operations with allies.

Quebec Parapublic Sector

Since the 1960s, the Sûreté du Québec has relied on Bell aircraft to help maintain order and ensure the safety and protection of the population. With the recent addition of two SUBARU Bell 412EPX helicopters to its fleet, the Sûreté du Québec is better equipped to conduct search and rescue missions, preserve life, and support essential police operations with greater efficiency. The delivery of these two SUBARU Bell 412EPXs to the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable for use by the Sûreté du Québec marks a significant milestone for Bell, as it represents its 6,000th commercial aircraft built in Canada.

Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS)

Ready when the call comes. Bell offers solutions for air medical services with a range of products customized to your needs. Dating back to the original Model 47, Bell helicopters have been involved in the medical aviation industry for decades. When speed and time are critical, Bell aircraft deliver high cruise speeds that allow air medical operators to respond within the golden hour and maximize patient outcomes.

Fire & Public Safety

For over 75 years, Bell has been a trusted partner to public safety operators globally. Not only did we field the world's first fire helicopter and the world's first public safety helicopter, but we continue to support those same pioneering agencies today while collaborating with hundreds more. At Bell, we commit to empowering first responders by prioritizing operational readiness through cutting-edge technology and unparalleled support.

Canadian Coast Guard

More than 1,000 Bell aircraft operate in Canada including those with the Canadian Coast Guard. The Coast Guard's red Bell helicopter fleet stands as a symbol of relief for countless citizens. The Bell 429's speed and efficiency saves precious time that ultimately makes the difference for its variety of missions.
